KTM is preparing a big year for Indian adventure motorcycling in 2026. The brand has confirmed a two-part strategy aimed squarely at hardcore ADV riders — the launch of the most off-road-focused 390 Adventure ever, and the first-ever KTM Adventure Rally to be held in India.

Together, these moves signal KTM’s intent to tighten its grip on the premium adventure motorcycle space.

1. KTM 390 Adventure R: Hardcore Off-Road Version Coming to India

The highlight of KTM’s 2026 plan is the KTM 390 Adventure R, scheduled to make its official India debut in January 2026 at India Bike Week.

Unlike the standard 390 Adventure, the R variant is built for serious trail riding, borrowing heavily from KTM’s global rally and enduro experience.

The Indian rally will be led by Chris Birch, one of KTM’s most respected global ambassadors.

Why This Matters

KTM’s Smart Line-Up Strategy for India

By 2026, KTM’s 390 Adventure family will be clearly segmented:

  • 390 Adventure X – Budget-friendly touring ADV
  • 390 Adventure (Standard) – Balanced touring and mild off-road use
  • 390 Adventure R – Hardcore off-road and rally-focused riders

This three-tier approach allows KTM to cater to every level of adventure rider, while also preparing to counter upcoming rivals like the BMW F 450 GS.

Big Picture: KTM Tightens Its ADV Grip

With a purpose-built off-road machine and a global-level rally experience, KTM isn’t just selling motorcycles — it’s building an adventure ecosystem in India.

The 390 Adventure R and the KTM Adventure Rally together reinforce KTM’s position as the most serious adventure brand in the country.

So, what do you think — is the 390 Adventure R the off-road KTM Indian riders have been waiting for, or would you still prefer a lighter ADV? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

Aprilia RS 457

Aprilia India has officially confirmed that prices of its 457cc motorcycles will increase from January 2026, as the brand’s limited-period GST Price Absorption and free accessories offer comes to an end on December 31, 2025.

This move affects both the fully-faired Aprilia RS 457 and the street-naked Aprilia Tuono 457, both of which had been protected from the full impact of the revised GST 2.0 structure since September 2025.

Aprilia RS 457: ₹15,000 Price Increase Confirmed

The RS 457 has enjoyed a ₹15,000 price cushion over the last few months, making it even more attractive in the entry-level supersport space. Aprilia also bundled a quickshifter worth ₹20,050 as part of the limited-time offer.

Price Breakdown

  • Current price (till Dec 31, 2025): ₹4.35 lakh (ex-showroom)
  • New price (from Jan 2026): ₹4.50 lakh (ex-showroom)
  • Net increase: ₹15,000

An important detail buyers should watch closely is whether the quickshifter will continue as standard equipment after December or revert to being an optional extra.

Aprilia Tuono 457: Bigger Hike Than Expected

The price revision for the Tuono 457 is more significant and reflects a stronger impact of GST 2.0 and rising input costs.

Price Timeline

  • Original launch price: ₹3.95 lakh
  • Current effective price: ₹4.14 lakh (includes ₹10,000 discount valid till Dec 25, 2025)
  • New list price (Jan 2026): ₹4.24 lakh

This means the Tuono 457 sees a total increase of ₹29,000 compared to its original launch price — nearly double the hike of the RS 457.

Why Aprilia Is Increasing Prices Now

When GST 2.0 came into effect earlier in 2025, Aprilia chose to temporarily absorb the additional tax burden to maintain sales momentum and protect its “accessible Italian performance” positioning.

By combining GST absorption with free accessories, the brand successfully kept both 457cc models competitively priced during the transition period. As the company heads into 2026, these absorbed costs are now being passed on to customers.

Despite the increase, both motorcycles remain the most affordable twin-cylinder Italian bikes in India, sitting in a unique space against rivals from KTM, Kawasaki, and Yamaha.

Should You Buy Before December 31?

If you are seriously considering either the RS 457 or Tuono 457, booking before the end of December 2025 can save you anywhere between ₹15,000 and ₹29,000. Mechanically, the motorcycles remain unchanged — but the pricing advantage of buying now is significant.

So, what do you think — would you lock in the Aprilia 457 twins before the price hike, or wait it out despite the higher cost? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
