Hyundai has officially unveiled the Staria Electric at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show, transforming its futuristic MPV into a full-electric flagship. Designed to serve both luxury family mobility and high-efficiency shuttle operations, the Staria Electric marks Hyundai’s boldest step yet into large-format EVs.
Production will begin at Hyundai’s Ulsan plant in South Korea, with market launches planned for Europe and Korea in the first half of 2026.

800V Architecture: A Big MPV Done Right
Unlike many electric vans that rely on conventional 400V systems, the Staria Electric is built on Hyundai’s advanced 800-volt EV architecture, a crucial upgrade for a vehicle of this size.
Charging & Efficiency Highlights
- DC Fast Charging: 10%–80% in just 20 minutes
- Reduced Heat Load: Improved efficiency during high-speed cruising and towing
- AC Charging: 11 kW onboard charger for overnight home or workplace charging
- Towing Capacity: Up to 2,000 kg, rare for an electric MPV
This setup makes the Staria Electric far more viable for long-distance and commercial usage than typical electric people movers.

Powertrain & Range
| Specification | Details |
|---|---|
| Battery Pack | 84 kWh Lithium-ion |
| Max Power | 218 PS (160 kW) |
| Peak Torque | 350 Nm |
| WLTP Range | Up to 400 km |
| Top Speed | 183 km/h |
While the range figure may not sound extreme on paper, Hyundai is clearly betting on ultra-fast charging to offset range anxiety for large families and fleet operators.

India Outlook
While Hyundai has not confirmed an India launch, the Staria Electric’s showcase at the 2025 Auto Expo indicates strong interest in the premium MPV space. With its 20-minute fast charging, the Staria EV could finally make large electric MPVs practical for Indian highways, especially for luxury transport and hospitality sectors.
GadiGarage Verdict
The Hyundai Staria Electric proves that EVs don’t need to be compact to be efficient. With 800V fast charging, flexible seating, and real-world usability, it redefines what a large electric MPV can be.
So, what do you think — is a 400km range enough for a 9-seater MPV, or does 20-minute fast charging change everything?
