Mahindra has begun teasing the XUV 7XO, the mid-life facelift of the hugely popular XUV700, and it’s clear this update is far more than a mild refresh. With its official unveiling scheduled for January 5, 2026, Mahindra is positioning the XUV 7XO as a technology-first premium SUV, aimed at leapfrogging rivals rather than merely matching them.

Pre-bookings are already open with a token amount of ₹21,000, signalling strong confidence from the brand.

Interior Overhaul: Triple-Screen Dashboard Takes Centre Stage

The biggest talking point of the XUV 7XO is its completely reworked cabin, inspired by Mahindra’s upcoming Born-EV design philosophy.

Triple 12.3-Inch Screen Setup

The dashboard now houses three individual 12.3-inch displays:

  • Digital driver’s instrument cluster
  • Central infotainment touchscreen
  • Dedicated co-passenger display

This setup creates a cockpit-style layout rarely seen in ICE SUVs in this segment.

Adrenox+ with BYOD Functionality

Powering the screens is an upgraded Adrenox+ system, enabling advanced connectivity features and a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) entertainment experience for the front passenger. Mahindra is clearly pushing the “in-car theatre” concept hard with the XUV 7XO.

New Steering & Cabin Theme

Other interior upgrades include:

  • New two-spoke steering wheel with illuminated Mahindra logo
  • Premium beige-and-brown dual-tone upholstery
  • Higher perceived material quality across the dashboard and door trims

Segment-First Tech: 540-Degree Camera & Enhanced ADAS

Mahindra is going all-in on driver assistance and visibility tech.

540-Degree Camera System

The XUV 7XO introduces a 540-degree camera, which includes:

  • Standard 360-degree surround view
  • A “transparent bonnet” style underbody view, helping drivers navigate tight trails, speed breakers, and parking spaces

This feature has so far been limited to high-end luxury SUVs and EVs.

Upgraded Level 2 ADAS

The facelift also enhances its Level 2 ADAS suite:

  • Real-time ADAS visualisation now appears in the digital instrument cluster
  • Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Forward Collision Warning are more intuitive with on-screen graphics showing nearby vehicles and obstacles

Rear-Seat Focus: Electric Boss Mode Arrives

Mahindra is clearly targeting chauffeur-driven buyers with the XUV 7XO.

Electric Boss Mode

For the first time on the XUV700 platform:

  • Rear passengers can electronically slide the front passenger seat forward
  • Massive legroom is unlocked at the push of a button

Rear Comfort Upgrades

Additional rear-seat features include:

  • Rear window sun blinds
  • Ventilated and sliding rear seats
  • Provision for rear-seat entertainment screens
  • 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system for a premium audio experience

Engines and Mechanical Setup Remain Familiar

Under the skin, the XUV 7XO sticks to proven powertrains.

Engine Options

  • 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol – 200 PS
  • 2.2-litre mHawk turbo-diesel – up to 185 PS

Transmission & Drivetrain

  • 6-speed Manual and 6-speed Automatic options
  • AWD expected to continue on select diesel automatic variants

Mahindra appears to be prioritising technology and luxury upgrades, rather than mechanical changes.

Exterior Updates: Subtle but Modern

On the outside, the XUV 7XO will receive:

  • Redesigned front grille (housing new camera hardware)
  • Fresh alloy wheel designs
  • Revised LED tail-lamp signature
  • Minor bumper and detailing updates to distinguish it from the current XUV700

Expected Price & Positioning

While Mahindra has teased the AX7 L, reports suggest a new AX9 L variant could sit at the very top of the range.

GadiGarage Verdict

With triple screens, boss-mode rear seating, a 540-degree camera, and enhanced ADAS, the Mahindra XUV 7XO isn’t just a facelift—it’s a clear attempt to redefine what buyers should expect from a premium ICE SUV in 2026.

So, what do you think — is the XUV 7XO worth waiting for, or would you still pick rivals like the Safari or Alcazar? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!

Mercedes Benz India

Mercedes-Benz India has wrapped up calendar year 2025 with its highest-ever annual revenue, proving that chasing value can matter more than chasing volume in the luxury car business.

Despite delivering 19,007 units, slightly lower than 19,565 units in 2024 (a 2.85% dip), Mercedes successfully pushed higher-margin products, taking India into the Top 5 global markets for Mercedes-Maybach for the first time.

Top-End Vehicles (TEV): The Revenue Engine

The biggest contributor to Mercedes-Benz India’s record revenue was its Top-End Vehicle (TEV) portfolio—cars priced above ₹1.5 crore.

  • TEV Growth: Up 11% year-on-year
  • Sales Contribution: 25% of total Mercedes-Benz India sales
  • Key Models: S-Class, Maybach GLS, AMG performance range

AMG Leads the Charge

Mercedes-AMG recorded a massive 34% growth in 2025. Strong demand for high-performance SUVs and sedans such as the G-Class, GLE 53, and GLC 43 drove this surge.

Diesel Makes a Comeback

Following GST 2.0 adjustments in September 2024, diesel vehicles rebounded sharply:

  • Diesel share: 43% in 2025
  • Up from: 39% in 2024

This highlights continued trust in Mercedes’ diesel powertrains among long-distance and luxury SUV buyers.

A Global First: Maybach GLS Made in India

In a landmark move, India became the only market outside the US to locally manufacture the Mercedes-Maybach GLS.

  • Manufacturing Location: Pune
  • Price Reduction: Over ₹40 lakh
  • New Starting Price: ₹2.75 crore (ex-showroom)

Local assembly has significantly reduced waiting periods while making ultra-luxury SUVs more accessible to Indian buyers.

Celebration Editions Launched

  • Maybach GLS Celebration Edition: ₹4.10 crore
  • EQS SUV Celebration Edition: Starting ₹1.34 crore

Electric Vehicles: Luxury EVs Go Mainstream

Mercedes-Benz India’s BEV portfolio grew by 12% in 2025.

  • EV Share of TEV Sales: 20%
  • High-End EV Focus: 70% of EVs sold were priced between ₹1.25 crore and ₹3.1 crore
  • Top Performer: Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV

This clearly shows that Indian luxury EV buyers are skipping entry-level options and moving straight to flagship models.

2026 Roadmap: Aggressive Expansion Ahead

Mercedes-Benz India has outlined a busy 2026 with 12 new launches planned.

Key Highlights

  • CLA Electric: To debut with the new MB.OS operating system
  • Retail Investment: ₹450 crore from dealer partners
  • Network Expansion:
    • 15 new touchpoints
    • 15 upgraded existing outlets
  • Charging Ecosystem:
    • Launch of MB.Charge Public
    • Access to 9,000+ DC fast chargers across India via a single app

GadiGarage Verdict

Mercedes-Benz India’s 2025 strategy makes one thing clear: India is no longer just a volume market—it’s a serious luxury hub. By prioritizing Maybachs, AMGs, and high-end EVs, Mercedes has protected margins while reinforcing its top-tier brand image.

With BMW narrowing the sales gap, the battle ahead won’t be about numbers alone—it will be about who owns the ultra-luxury customer.

So, what do you think — does the ₹40 lakh price cut make the locally built Maybach GLS irresistible, or do you still prefer the exclusivity of a full CBU import?
